Ute Kolar’s jewelry is a poetic exploration of nature’s forms and rhythms, inspired by her contemplative walks through forests and fields. Her work captures fleeting natural moments — the movement of wind across a wheat field, the trembling of tree canopies in a storm, the gentle descent of a falling leaf. Born in Graz, Austria, in 1966, Kolar began her career as a freelance jewelry designer in 1986. Since 1991, she has lived and worked in Viterbo, Italy, where she continues to experiment with wood, fire enamel, and metal — her favored materials. These elemental substances lie at the heart of her creative process, which she describes as meditative and deliberate, constructing each piece part by part into a unified, harmonious whole.

“Nature, in its endless variations of form and symmetrical repetition, is my greatest source of inspiration,” Kolar explains.

Her pieces invite quiet exploration and discovery, blending lightness and texture to create works that are visually striking yet physically weightless.
