Stefania Lucchetta

Stefania Lucchetta was born in 1967 in Bassano del Grappa, Italy. She graduated with honors in Literature and History of Art from Ca’ Foscari University in Venice and later specialized at the Italian School of Design in Padua, where she earned a master’s degree in Industrial Design.

Born into a family of goldsmiths, she decided to continue the family tradition after completing her studies — but with a more contemporary and experimental approach. Her goal was to transcend the boundaries imposed by traditional materials and production techniques.

“I believe there is a link between deep design innovation and new techniques and materials. At the beginning of the new millennium, I started using parametric modeling, rapid prototyping machines, and new materials — such as stellite and titanium — to create original and unconventional objects that were impossible to produce through traditional craftsmanship.

During these years of research, I was not only experimenting with a new design language but also seeking a kind of personal technological poetry. I have always aimed to achieve synergy between form, structure, and material. The individual parts of the structure, the manufacturing processes, the material, and the whole — that is, the final form — are all in a very close relationship, so that the same object would not make sense if even one of these elements were altered.”
