Sara Barbanti’s jewelry explores the poetry of transformation and contrast. Born in Modena in 1991, she first trained in interior design at the Politecnico di Milano before immersing herself in the world of jewelry at Le Arti Orafe in Florence. Upon returning to Modena, she refined her craft in Gigi Mariani’s goldsmith studio, where her fascination with material dialogue truly took shape.

Barbanti’s pieces are defined by the interplay between organic and geometric forms, the union of humble and precious materials, and the dance between light and shadow. Working primarily with charcoal, she transforms wood into coal, imbuing each jewel with a sense of metamorphosis and latent potential.

Rejecting figurative expression, her compositions invite open interpretation — where imperfection becomes strength and fragments suggest wholeness. For Barbanti, the creative process itself is central: spontaneity and intuition guide her hand as each piece unfolds into a tactile meditation on contrast and unity.
