Hanna Liljenberg transforms the organic beauty of nature and the intricate complexity of the human body into striking wearable art.
Rooted in the landscape of Sweden’s west coast and guided by her fascination with the body’s power to both amaze and unsettle, her work blurs the boundaries between the natural and the human-made.

Using paper and thin sheets of metal, Liljenberg constructs lightweight, foldable forms defined by sharp, organic silhouettes, vivid color, and delicate linework. Each piece emerges through a process of repetitive cutting, folding, and coloring — a meditative rhythm that shapes her artistic language.

Born in 1982 in Gothenburg, Sweden, Liljenberg first explored painting before finding her voice in jewelry. She earned her MFA from HDK-Valand – Academy of Art and Design in Gothenburg in 2011, following an exchange semester in Tokyo that profoundly influenced her sensibility and approach to form.

“I see my jewellery as a manmade growth to dress a body,” she reflects. “Is it a twig or a vein? Delicate petals or something more like an organ?”

Through her abstract, floral-inspired forms, Liljenberg invites reflection on the interplay between beauty and fragility — creating jewelry that feels alive, like an extension of the body itself, where art and identity intertwine.
