This is Jeemin Jamie Chung
Jeemin Jamie Chung’s artistic research is deeply rooted in her personal experiences of constant change and adaptation. Born in 1983 in Seoul, Korea, Chung creates jewelry pieces that encapsulate moments and emotions from her life, reflecting on the contrasts often overlooked in our fast-paced world.
Her work is characterized by a poetic sensibility that reveals the beauty of fleeting moments in everyday life with refined elegance. Movement — a theme that has long fascinated her — lies at the heart of her artistic exploration. She conveys this through the use of almost intangible and invisible elements inspired by nature, complemented by delicate colors and flowing forms.
Chung’s creations express the variety of contrasts we encounter daily but often fail to notice, bringing them to light through her art. After completing a semester at Sheffield Hallam University in the UK (2004–2005), she earned her master’s degree in Metalwork and Jewelry from Kookmin University College of Design in Seoul.
Her talent has been recognized with numerous international awards, including the Legnica Award Prize and the JOYA Award in Barcelona (2015), the ARTE Y JOYA 10th Edition Award (2019), and the 7th Seoripul “Art for Art” Contest Finalist Award (2022).
“Through my work as an artist, I seek to evoke emotional change and translate my values and beliefs into the language of art jewelry,” Chung explains, underscoring her commitment to creating pieces that resonate deeply with the wearer.
