Clara Del Papa was born in Guanare, Venezuela, in 1965, and graduated in Architecture from the Universidad Central de Venezuela. In the years that followed, she specialized in urban planning, interior design, and garden design. Influenced by the cultural circles she frequented with her father from a young age, Del Papa’s eclectic personality is reflected in her wide-ranging interests — from her travels around the world to earning her aircraft pilot license.

After moving to Italy in 1991, she continued to expand her cultural and artistic background through the study of goldsmithing, discovering in contemporary jewelry the expressive form that allows her to give tangible shape to her emotions.

“Each piece springs from a geographical or intellectual journey — from observing nature or the spirit of places and people, in the details that have touched my soul the most. As I wander, I am moved by costumes, colors, and expressions of art and tradition wherever I go. The challenge is to translate them into metal — to break down its cold, rigid nature, melting and reshaping it into a warm embrace. I draw from an ever-evolving palette of materials, finishes, and pliable variations of lines and volumes. It is a dialogue between the jewel and the anatomy of the body, its extensions and rhythms. I am not searching for simplicity of form or construction, nor for easy wearability.”

Through this philosophy, Del Papa’s work becomes a synthesis of memory, material, and movement — an ongoing conversation between emotion, craftsmanship, and the living body.
